KORES270 is an amazing skilled graffiti artist, especially with his body-paintings I could tell he is one of the best body painting artists at the moment.

GS: What is your tag name and why did you choose it?
KORES270: My name is KORES270, its a "minimal" name, kores (cores) mean "colors" in Portuguese, colors is all I do when I spray over a surface, simple as that, 270 is a number I add to it to be unique, 270 its my address code.

GS: How and why did you get into street art?
KORES270: I started making stencils with a friend of mine, we used to draw together and challenged each other. The access to spray cans at the time was very tight, only had cans of ordinary shops, brands dedicated to graffiti don't exist at the time here (2004). I spent most of my evolution painting alone, but I made my way to what I am today.

GS: Where did you begin making art in the streets and how old were you?
KORES270: I started everywhere. when we start we just wanted to mark everywhere, the new rush feeling grow inside. I was about 14, and like today, if I had more money I would paint more, I did what i could, I just wanted to get up. I did a lot of tagging, my city was khaos for a couple of years.

GS:  what is the hardest thing when you make a painting on girls?
KORES270: maybe keeping the flow, the flow you have on paper will die in a very strange way when you paint it on a girl, must keep focus

GS: What tools did you use to paint on girls?

KORES270: I only use Posca markers, sometimes i use brushes and skin ink, but rarely. posca markers are water ink, good for skin too.

GS: How long does it take to complete your artworks on girl's body?
KORES270: it depends, i took one hour, and four hours too, but usually it takes 2 hours, something like that.

GS: Which other artists influenced your style and did you try to emulate?
KORES270: In the early days, I just had the graffiti I saw in magazines, because there was no internet or other means. I saw a lot of graffiti crews from Lisbon at the time, and I remember that in those times CAN2 and ATOM were a very strong reference for me, the style, the colors, I was a complete fan.

GS: Tell us what is the different between your style to other artist?
KORES270: I think we are all in part to imitate some old style, however slightly. but from a certain point we started to change our style to our way, and that style will become increasingly fixed and strong. I like the letters I do, I don't think they're perfect, but I try to always get the best balance I can

GS: How do you pick your locations ?
KORES270: I was never that type of writer that paints in clean houses of people, I try to pick abandoned buildings or unused structures in general. there are several spots in the inner city where we can paint and not ruin anyone's house. is quite simple, I do not like that someone paints the wall of my house, so, I don't do it too. There a lot of visible places to paint without assaulting people's privacy in their homes.

GS: What tools do you use ? Only spray paint?
KORES270: The normal, spray paint, rollers. For the body-paints I use water ink markers

GS: Do you pre plan your murals, or make it up as you go along?
KORES270: I thinks murals must be planned, the colors, the spaces, the harmony.

GS: Any unforgettable story that you want to share with us?
KORES270: Being in graffiti for some yers we all have crazy stories to tell, crazy jumps and escapes, people trying to beat our ass, people shooting at me, all of that.

GS: Have you collaborated with any artists recently? Who and what work has come out of it?
KORES270: I like to paint with other writers, making collabs is very good for self evolution, I paint everytime I can with other writers. Recently I've painted with RICS , and with some German dudes that visited portugal POSTER, WORD and NOTME.

GS: Any message to other artists?
KORES270: Nothing special, just do what you want to do, fuck what other might say or thing about what you do.
